Default PCM flash

Have anyone flash a PCM? My mechanic told me that he needs to tow the car to the dealer ship. Is that true or can he just take the PCM to the dealership?

Call the dealership and ask them your self. Second why do you need to do that anyway?

A dealership cannot hook up the the PCM by itself. The PCM must be installed in the car.

Why? Are you installing a new PCM or did he mess up timing?
