Default Antenna Cable

Since the heater core replacement, my radio fades in and out while driving. Doesn't matter which station it's on. Pulled the bezel and radio and the antenna is plugged into the radio. I know there's a junction near the passenger kick plate where the cables conjoin, but need to know where and what to remove to get to it.

Anybody ever deal with this?

Smile Re: Antenna Cable

well, took off the part that is just to the right of the glovebox and it appears the mechanic couldn't plug the antenna cable into the pt's radio antenna adapter because of some foam insulation in the way so he taped the 2 cables together.

took the tape off, slid the foam out of the way and plugged her in. simply mahvelous!

they have the knowledge and experience to take the entire dash apart and put it back together, but can't tackle a simple job like plugging in an antenna.

i'm actually really happy that's all they screwed up. could have been a whole lot worse.
