Default Ultra Guage and true mpg

I just installed a ultra gauge on my 2006 I am not sure if it is reading correct or not , when I went to calibrate it there was only a .2 mph deference between it and my gps so I figure it is at least close . I made my first trip to work wit it and it has my avg mpg at 33.4 mpg and the instant mpg actually went up when I went 70 instead of 65 mph. Any thoughts from anyone that has one of these and if .2 difference is still to much.

You need to run a tank or to and do the hard math to see if calibrating the Ultra Gauge is needed.
Once you do a calibration I have found that it is within about .25-.50 gallons used from actual math calculated MPG.

Don't forget there is also a fuel injector cut off setting that needs to be adjusted.

I have one also. Nitro is correct your going to have to run several tanks of gas before you get a true reading.

I set the injector cut off, calibrated distance (BIG DIFFERENCE) mileage dropped to 28 and I went and topped it off again and reset to 0 mpg and I will run a tank a compare to my last calculation of 27.19 mpg. These cars do run at to high of RPM at highway speed I would like to see them down around 2200 rpm , maybe larger tires ?

Could you please explain the fuel injector cut-off for me. Maybe in a pm or directly text it to me. Also, in kindergatener terms would be great. Its been a LOOOOOONG week.

LOl mine started out at 27.4 when I first set it up, after running about 5 tanks it came down to 20.7. At first I knew that couldn't be right because I did the math on fillups and figured 22mpg.

I hope mine never drops that low , I'm setting at 27+ right now per the ultra guage which goes along with my math .What I'm trying to find out is where the car prefers to run at for the best mileage so far 67-70 per the instant mpg looks the best.

2006 n/a auto, AC off, defrost off: 27 MPG at 67 mph. Mpg drops after 70 mph. Slightly better at 55.
