That's so when your driving nobody can run up and open the hatch and jump in.

That's a good question I can't say it's anything I've noticed with ours?

I learned that when you get gas with the PT and need to check the odometer to write the information calculating mpg with the key to the on position don't allow the door shut behind you when you hear the gas pump click off to remove it from the vehicle!
Wallet, cell phone, etc. are all in site you just can't get them.

Open drivers side window upon exiting vehicle, problem solved. I always have my dog with me and if the windows are up when I get out of my car for some reason I always roll down the driver side window. She might accidently hit one of the door locks buttons, never know. Better to be safe than locked out LOL.

Yep driver side window, I don't trust electric door locks! Our Daewoo seemed to lock the doors automatically after 45 secs?

So I don't take chances with the PT!

thats a fair question
I had the PT on the rack and had just changed the oil . I started the car with it off the ground to make sure there were no leaks, and i wanted to get in the back for something, but could not, i whent to the door and hit unlock but the hatch stayed locked, as soon as I turned the car off the hatch unlocked???

I learned this the hard was as well

Now when i put a car on the rack I always open a window so just in case i start the car with it in the air the doors cant lock with the car runnng and maybe in gear

I learned that if I put fried chicken in a flooded car it takes away the smell of the swamp and replaces it with crispy fried chicken
