Default AC Suction line

Hi All
I changed the ac compressor had it recharged then the next day notice compressor oil dripping. I found the ac suction line has pin holes in it Th problem is it's Sunday my sop is closed. I want to know if I replace the ac suction line my self will I be able to drive the car about 10 miles to the shop to be recharged on Monday with out doing damage to the new compressor or should I wait and change the ac suction line out tomorrow at the shop
Thanks

if there is NO pressure when you push the schrader valve in, go for it. it wont hurt anything.

i took my broken line off at home, drove to the hardware store, fixed it in the parking lot, drove to the parts store, picked up 24 oz of r134a, and filled it back up. -good as new!

There is still some pressure it's still blowing cold, very slow leak in the rubber part of the line. I would have to evacuate the system then change the line but could not recharge until I bring to the shop tomorrow. I only lost a little oil since yesterday. I believe there should be oil in the compressor still.

if it is still cold you might as well wait. you'd be sending a lot of r134 off into space. it must be pretty much still full since it's still cold. if you ask nice, they might even charge you less since they'll be reclaiming most of what they just put in it. -just my opinion though

Thanks, sounds like good advice. I am going to wait till I get to the shop. Don't want to cause any other problems with the ac system.

The compressor, if filled correctly, holds between 3 and 4 ounces of PAG oil, so you should be okay. I can tell you this - voice of experience - don't let it drip for long as it'll start dripping on the power steering belt and eventually it'll start squealing and eventually die. Mine did, but then I let mine go for nearly 7 months!

For 24.99 this might be worth a try,if it IS a VERY slow leak in the rubber part of line.......I've never used it,but I used the REGULAR A/C Pro which contains stop leak....This one says "MAX-SEAL":ACP-105 AC PRO with Advanced Stop Leak - AC ProJust an idea.....
