Default 2005 Cruise: change fuel tank

I have never changed a fuel tank. Anyone have a service manual they could share info or point me in the right direction?

here: http://www.filedropper.com/untitled-1

for what it's worth, the tank on mine came out really easily. the fuel line comes apart pretty effortlessly with the quick disconnect clips. getting the fill hose and vent line off the right rear is what i started with, then the electrical connector and fuel line(or lines? i dont remember if there was more than 1, either way, should be easy).

Make sure the tank is as empty as possible. You'll be suprised how heavy 2 or 3 gals of gas is when you're laying on your back Do not press on the center of the tank on the bottom. There's a round shape you can see. This is where the float arm is located. You don't want to bend or break this.
Some basics:
You're woking around GAS. Take precautions as needed
~ get some rags to soak up any drips or spills
~wear eye protection
~Remove neg battery cable.
~Rear of car on ramps.
~open fuel filler cap to release tank pressure.
~remove filler & vent tube from pass side of the tank via worm clamp.
~I made an 'H' brace with 2x4 so not to press on center of tank where fuel float is located and lowerered the tank with a floor jack after removing the two tank straps.
~lower it as far as you need to remove the power wire and fuel line.
~You'll need a fuel line tool or small needle nose pliers to remove the fuel hard line from the fuel canister cap on top of the tank.

Good Luck

I am doing the same thing. Any idea how long the replacement takes from start to finish?

[

2006 once the wheels were off about 30-45 minutes with 1 gallon left in the tank to remove it. The same maybe 15 minutes extra for installation?

After removing it

Cleaning it up

Got the tank off no problem. Went to put the new one on and noticed it had fallen over. This part broke. Any idea what it is?
