Default lowering gen2 hood

My hood is not uniform with the body like I see with every other gen2 and gen1.... I took the pt to a mopar repairshop and they changed the bracket and retorqued it.

This only made the hood stay at the same level it was, but tight not wobbly.
Any idea on why the hood wont close fully to be uniform with body and leave a big gap?
Its not a real big issue but it's a pet peeve every time Ilook at it.

Pic gives you general idea. Its a tiny bit more raised now.
....I gave chrysler 300 to fix it not make it not push down...so this will be a diy

Noticed that your front grill does not fit properly from you photo. That would bother me as much as the hood

Yea, something's not right. It looks like it's been in an accident. With the hood open you will see 2 hard rubber, hex shaped 'bumpers' about an inch wide. They're right next to where the tabs for the upper grill attach. These are what the hood rests against and are adjustable for height. Simply turn them clockwise to lower them some more to close the hood gap.

If after you turn those bumpers down, the hood becomes loose, you have something bent out of shape with the front body panels. Taking it to a dealer is the last place you should go (unless you know for a fact that they have the best body shop in town). A paint and body repair place deals with this kind of issue everyday. Mechanics don't.

he Is right, I wouldn't take a problem like this to dealer/mechanic as all they will do is "attempt" to fix it and charge you a ridiculous fee. a body repair shop would be the best step

I took it to chrysler since I needed to change my master Cylinder and rear brakes, along with some wheel bracket I cracked from hitting curb. Sadly the hood has been that way since I got the car, however the grille just has a chipped center insert so it won't stay.

Yah the accident is from brakes failing from master cyl. I don't care for the grille damage as I want to swap it with a custom grille. I found a really nice one that comes with bumper inserts for 266 so im jumping on it next paycheck its "q" style.

I will check those tabs after work that was mentioned what tools it need?

Raise the hood and take s picture of the latch Assembly. At that some angle and from the front so I can see what's going on.

If the hood problem is causing the grill problem, a custom grill won't fix it

Question Re: lowering gen2 hood

It looks like it could definately use some 'tweaking' on the hinges & latch....But,like was previously stated;Post some pics standing in front with the hood open, and try to get some close-ups of the latch assembly if you can.
