Question Re: Keyless entry

Do you have power door lock switches on the doors?

They did come with keyless entry and the 06 and ups the remote was part of the key. But it was an option and there have been a few on here who have reported they didn't have it. The easiest way to tell is if there is a outside door lock on the passenger side then it didn't have keyless entry.

Even without keyless entry it would still have power door locks because I believe you can program the car what to unlock using the key whether it is just the drivers side or all doors.

So really how do I tell if it would have it or not I just got 2 plain keys with it... some Chryslers had separate key fobs... is there a way to tell if it had it with the vin number? Does Chrysler have a website like ford does to see what the window purchase sticker price was and options?

06 and ups don't have separate fobs. The remote is built into the key. The vin may tell but did you read what I posted already? Do you have a outdoor lock on the passenger side? If you do then it doesn't have keyless entry.

Then more than likely your PT Cruiser has an RKE module, and if that's true....Then it's only a matter of getting the 'Key w/remote',and getting it programmed at the dealership(My local Chrysler dealer charges $70).....Unless there is a reason why the previous owner didn't supply them;Such as the RKE is not operating, but if that was true then none of the door lock switches would be operating.Key/Remote can be found reasonably on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHRYSLER-REM...e98708&vxp=mtr (The dealer charges about $180 for one!)

Randy, that is wrong. Lots of 2006's came this way. Just because it has power door locks does not mean it has remote entry. The easiest way to tell is if it has a keyhole on the passenger side. If it does then it doesn't have remote entry. Only the 2006 was this way. My daughter's 06 has remote entry and it does not have the key hole on the passenger side.

Question Re: Keyless entry

So there's not even an RKE in the center dash wells, under the dashboard?.....That's weird?....Do they even have the wire harness for adding an RKE module,if someone wanted to?
