Default Filling radiator tip

Had to refill the radiator due to a broken fitting on the heater. I found I kept spilling the antifreeze/water. To stop this I cut the top off of a 2L Coke bottle with about 2" of bottle. The screw thread portion fits snuggly in to the rad cap hole and seals, this leaves a large open reservoir to fill and let it drain in slowly.

Hope this helps others.

Tony

Good tip. There are funnels made with radiator caps attached to help filling problem cars, like PT's, but they are pricey for occasional users. Also, if you crack the bleeder screw and attach a Mighty Vac, or similar hand held vacuum pump, while you fill also helps pull the coolant through the system.
