Cool Gas Mileage Check

I just got back from a trip to PA with the wiffie.
I picked up the Series 4 Dreams Cruiser in SC, and drove it back...keeping a detailed gas log.
The GT vert (turbo) is a 2005, with 92,000 on it now.
90% of the mileage on my trip was highway. And, I only used the ac briefly twice.

Used 68.72 US gals of gas; put on 1,685 miles. from PA to OKCity.
That is 24.5 MPG overall!
(I could not find pure gas until I got back in OK)

I am very happy!
As, I could tell that it even needed new plugs and wires.

"That is all"!

Sounds good.

I'm getting about 22 mpg right now with a mixture of town and highway driving. But I haven't touched the engine yet. I figure once I do the tuneup with high quality plugs and wires and then add a K&N style air filter, I might get back up at 27 mpg which is what I was getting out of the 2.4L in my 96 Sebring convertible with 248,000 miles on her.

I might try some straight gas too. But I'm not sure the extra mileage will offset the extra cost.

Ask the tech folks here
The 10% Ethanol can damage the fittings and engine.
And, I believe that the facts are that you will save $$ by using 100% gasoline!
