Unhappy WolfmanG had a bad accident!

Carey, I suggest we start a section for PT Cruiser Accidents...

I'm very disturbed, emotionally, as a friend of mine here, Danny aka WolfmanG, had a bad wreck in his PT and it looks destroyed.

Everyone please contact WolfmanG and let him know you are keeping him in your thoughts! Really totally bums me out, it wasn't his fault, and he's lucky to have walked away even though he did get some injuries. I'm just hoping that he's okay and that he'll come back to a PT one of these days....sigh...

Danny, Bro, I'm really keeping you in my prayers!

Edit - here's a copy of the photo, makes you choke up...

Oh, man, he's been a great friend of mine, and if I had any money I'd help him out but dayum I'm broke!

Unhappy Re: WolfmanG had a bad accident!

Oh,no.....He's also one of my fellow Texans, and has an awsome PT Cruiser;San Antonio can be pretty dangerous to drive around, with 410,I-10,I-35,I-37/Hwy 281,especially during rush hours....I know;I lived/worked there for a couple of years.
Hope,he's OK....PTs can be replaced,PT fans can't!
Man,that photo makes me sick to my stomach.......

I feel for anyone's project vehicle that gets twisted up. Nice to hear no one was hurt in a serious way.

Unless the rear or side was hit also it does not appear to be a total. I am sure other that work on auto body may agree. The body parts are easy to replace and worst the sub-frame may need swapping out. I think Busted_PT was in worse condition when he first started his PT project restoration.

He did a lot of mods on this PT he named Eve. Hopefully he will get her back together and up and running in the upcoming months?

We will keep WolfmanG in our prayers for quick healing from his injuries.

For the car, I hope the other folks had good insurance that will adequately pay to replace WolfmanG's one-of-a-kind customized PT.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news guys but it's a total loss far as the Insurance goes. There is no sub frame. Just the k frame, which is behind the wheels for the most part. The body frame you can see is shoved over and crumpled some. It could be fixed and be right and safe. But cost and other factors will make sure that the Insurance will in fact totale it out. Get you a lawyer now, the sooner the better. The injury thing will be taken care of a lot better if you do not wait. Lawyer's don't want it if you wait to long. They may even be able to help you recoup some of your mods expenses from your pt as well. Get a GT with the settlement. Good wishes for speedy recovery on all fronts WolfmanG.

Robin, thanks for letting us know of Danny's crash. Great that he wasn't too badly injured. Agree with Lynn that it could be a lot of superficial parts that can be replaced depending on how hard it was hit. My prayers and thoughts go out to him.

He's okay, just cuts and bruises. He's actually like a brother to me, so I'm glad he's safe, but hate to see the PT be put down, like an injured dog...sigh...

Any insight if what caused the accident?
A conclusion was stated but I am curious.

Looks like he hit a cow and it was was thrown up in the air and landed on the hood lol

That's generally dependent on whether insurance was made aware of the mods through a customization form where you state the amount of your mods done to a dollar value and have pics to back it up, otherwise oem prices are paid out.

For example, I have mine set at 5000 dollars
