Default Front of engine noise ?

Im looking at buying a 2003 GT.

It does have a noise on the front of the engine (passenger side)
It does sound like a tensioner going bad and changes with revs.

IS this a known issue with these or could it be something else >?

THANKS

Impossible to diagnose something like that over the internet.
If you're interested in the car, line up a mechanic and pay for an evaluation - is seller doesn't like that - RUN AWAY!

You didn't mention the milage?....But,I will make an important suggestion; If the car has 90,000+ miles,it should have already,or definately will need to have the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner changed pretty soon(price ranges from $800-$1,200 @ shop/Save more $ by DIY-Difficulty level 7-9,especially with out the proper tools).....You can use this as leverage to get the seller to drop the price, possibly by as much as $1,500......But,as quicksiverdon suggested,to be a the absolute safe side, take it to a shop, and ask for a 'Pre-purchase' diagnostic(about $25-$45-But WELL worth it in the long run!)......If you do buy it,Happy PT'ing!

Lets; good advice from randy and don. Although the noise could be something as simple as a PS pump or alternator bearing, you really want to know what it is before you hand over the green. And if the timing belt is due!
