Default Wipers, Turn Signals And Head Lights Are Dead

My wipers, turn signals and headlights are dead.
I checked the fuses and they are all good.
Anyone have any ideas what I should check next?
Thanks for any input.

Well after searching it seems that it is likely that it is one of the multifunction switches that has gone bad.

Can anyone here tell me how to test them?

Can anyone here explain why and how they are tied together?

Thanks again for any input.

Sorry for bumping my own thread so much, but the more I read the more questions I got.

The question now is:

Is there a relay for the multifunction switches and if so does anyone know where I can find it on a 2006 PT Cruiser?

Thanks again.

Take off the housing or shroud on the steering column (2 phillips screws from underneath, then snaps apart).
On left is lights & turn signals, right is wipers.
Inspect the wiring....

I just noted you have a 2006 - that year they went to the CANBUS electric system where the computer controls way more than pre-2006.
Before you go crazy, I'd take off negative cable from battery (and clean it while you're at it), step on brake to drain residual charge (via brake light) then reconnect and see what you have.
It's like rebooting a PC. It may not work, but shouldn't hurt anything.

Bob; do Don's suggestion first. The 2006 and later went to a tipm. This module sends power to many components. It receives signals from switches, sensors etc. and then sends power to individual motors, lights, etc. The tipm is quite costly and complicated.

Your problem sounds like a wiring issue. It's doubtful that both MFS's went out at once. A high end code reader should tell you more. There are others on this site that know more about electronics.

Thanks for the tip about a high end code reader. I did the key dance and got nothing.

However after fiddling around with the fuse and wires, it is now working again.
If it happens again I will have to narrow down exactly where this loose connection is.
