Default 2003 PT Cruiser won't start

I have a 2003 PT Cruiser with 205,000 miles on it.It had been running fine until the other day my daughter stopped at the gas station to get gas when she got back in the car and tried to start it,it would just click but wouldn't start.I was at work so she called her boyfriend and he came down and jump started the car and it fired right up.The next morning it started fine, she took it to the local auto parts store and had the battery checked they told her it was showing a little low but the termials probably needed cleaned (the battery had been replaced last year).A few mornings ago she went to start it again and it just clicked, when i got home from work i cleaned the battery termials (the positive termial was pretty corroded) now it cranks but won;t start and it isn't showing any codes. The fuel pump is running and i have good pressure at the fuel rail. The timing belt was changed 40,000 miles ago.

Do you have a meter to check the voltage of the starter. Even being a year old it could be bad (bad cell etc.). Also have the shop or auto store check the charging rate of the alternator to see if that's weak and not supplying enough voltage to recharge the battery while it's in use. Next, check the wiring at the starter and the grounding wires for the battery. if the terminals were corroded, good chance other parts of the system are corroded also.

It's cranking and you checked for fuel, that leave spark. You can get at the coil end easily - check for spark there.

Is it cranking over normal (fast) enough to start the engine? If it is, take QSD's advice and check for spark.

BTW: have you done the key trick to see if any codes are showing?

How to retrieve fault codes.

It wouldn't hurt to check the ignition coil pack using a multimeter for primary & secondary resistance....Primary= 0.51-0.61 ohms & Secondary= 11.5-13.5 k-ohms.
If it doesn't fall between those measurements, the coil pack probably needs to be replaced.
