Unhappy ANTI-LOCKS

I DO NOT KNOW again...if my anti locks are working; I assume NO

I had a RIVIERA and the pulsing of the brakes was quite prominent.

I tried jamming my brakes a few times to test; I feel NOTHING like that

where do I start to check if the system has failed?

It IS an ordered/applied option; I got the 4 page print out from Chrysler that tells me everything the car came with; anti-lock is on the list

I owned 2 GT Cruisers over a span of 8 years with anti-lock brakes and I can't really say that they activated often at all nor did I "notice" them much. But if you just want to do a behind-the-wheel test like you are trying, the roads should be wet at a minimum and snow/ice would be better. The Cruiser just flat gets great traction due to its front wheel drive so it does take more than your average car to induce brake lock than most people expect.

I'm not sure what kind of hardware to tell you to look for but I vaguely recall that there might be an icon that lights up in the dash cluster. Check the owner's manual for details if you have one. I'm sure some Cruiser guru will be along to post better info here soon.

If you have no warning light then they should be working. The CHRYSLER brake system will not pulse like the other vehicle you mentioned in moderate to hard braking. Braking hard should be smooth steady and deliberate in its operation.
If you are unsure about this you should really have it inspected by a shop that advertises specializing in suspension and brake repair. SEARS or Midas are a couple good places or naturally the Chrysler dealer in your area.

Brian disconnect a wheel speed sensor and go brake in a parking lot and you will LEARN real fast about your ABS system.

With any modern ABS you need the proper scan tool to diagnose any suspected failures, but you should have recieved a warning light if your system has failed in any way.

You can perform a few basic preliminary checks to determine if you need to have your system scanned. A run down of this procedure is on pages 9-2 and 9-3 of the Haynes manual (along with your drivers manual) that you said you had in one of your earier posts here on this site. It is titled;

Is there an ancient ABS system??

Would that be what the Flintstones used?

In my Mark VIII i could step on the brake harder and overpower the ABS when needed, i liked it then. when i got my prelude the ABS was a joke. it would click so much that the car would never stop. I pulled the ABS relay OUT in the winter to disable it. the car refused to actually apply the brakes.
in that car i tested it with and without the ABS relay in. on a snowy street travelling 10mph, I stopped in a little over 75 feet with ABS. without it i stopped in about 15ft. -imagine clicking along like mad going that slow. sheesh. not feeling the ABS pulsing like crazy is a good thing.
