Exclamation Trying so hard to fix my PT. I had done it all before

I've found fault codes, starter problems, etc and been able to repair it all by coming here or going on YouTube.

Well now I can't. I can't get a fault code, and here is what happened. Started car. Then, suddenly, before even getting out of park, it grinded down and stopped. Now it won't turn over. I had battery checked it's all fine. This wasn't the starter a minute ago because it did start fine but now it won't turn over. I considered alternator but it makes really scary grinding sound when I try to get it to turn over. Not bad bearing type either. I just can't figure it out and don't know no fault code is coming up. I have kids I take to school in this car a very little funds so need to try and fix this myself.

Help

check your oil. Look for metal in it. If it doesn't turn over at all it may have locked up. That would be worst case. where are you located? Maybe someone local could look at it.

grinding noise when you try to start it sounds like a bad starter drive (gear on starter)

It sounded like it was running, then grinding noise then shut off. That's what I got out of that. Sounds real bad to me.
