Default Spouse Doesn't Understand My PT Needs!

Okay guys (not meaning to isolate a guys/gals thing), I'm in a quandary with my wife...
I would like to buy some new aluminum rims. I can afford them and they are not expensive, in fact, I've found what is probably the best deal I can for a set. I like the look and I want the easier care of alloy near the ground.
I showed the ad (eBay) to my wife and when I thought I was going to hear "sweet" or "would look great on your PT", instead I got "Why do you need wheels?" I replied, "Sweety, the wheels on Baby-Girl are 12 years old, they have alot of wear and rust areas that I can't get off from the previous owner not cleaning them", then I said, "and the alloys would just set the car off & be easier to maintain"
Wifey's reply: "I think your wheels look fine!"
Well, this stinks...
My wife is my boss at work (really) and obviously, my boss at home (sadly)...do I just surrender? Pout? or man-up, buy them and damm (see:Crewzin) the consequences?

Talking Re: Spouse Doesn't Understand My PT Needs!

Hearing things like this, actually makes me feel better about being in between women right now.
I think I'll wait till my PT project is further along(or finished!),before looking again;I'd hate say: "Sorry,I can't see you this weekend.....I'll be working on my PT Cruiser(the other woman!)."

Dude... Boss at work, boss at home ? In that case just go out for a pedicure with her and be done with it ... We Canadians hunt the mastadon and the wives keep the caves rodent free while we do so.

The Turbo is strong, fast and reliable.. People that don't understand the love of a PT, probably don't deserve to.

No such problems at my home.

I earn substantially more at my regular job than my wife does. And while other husbands play golf and go to ball games in their spare time, I have a side business where I make a decent amount doing part time IH jobs and consulting. Plus, I do almost all mechanic work on all our cars and I perform most home repairs and do just about everything else including handling all the finances. And I'm generally tighter with money than my wife is.

So when I buy something, no matter what it is, my wife just smiles and acts excited when I tell her about it. It may just be her personality or she may actually know better than to act differently. Either way, I worship the ground she walks on. She's still the best woman I've ever known. And I love her.

PS: Plus, I bought her a new Chrysler 300 S. That buys me a lot of spare PT parts.
