Default Heads up, tranny pan w/drain $14 @ Amazon

Listed as "Used, good condition" but I'd bet it's just a returned one. As a matter of fact, I did lay down my bet and one is one the way... LOL.

Amazon.com: Buying Choices: Dorman 265-801 Transmission Oil Pan

Anyway, thought someone might need one and is as cheap as me.

LOL, I know.... and it held about an extra gallon, right? I could afford the pan(s) and I have a welder.... I just couldn't afford $36 for another gallon of ATF+4 (Since it would actually cost more to fill it than making a double pan itself would.) It was my lame attempt at a joke, LOL.

BTW, what was with the keystock welded to the bottom..... skids just in case there was contact? I wasn't sure of the purpose?

The extra capacity pan goes along with the extra fluid lines to the very large fluid cooler.

The key stock was added as a joke because of a comment from a friend I won't mention his name (Danny). The pan itself is so solid that if you did bottom the suspension it would protect the transmission from damage. The funny thing is that the key stock added does effectively cool the pan. We found this out when the welding was being done. The main body was getting very hot even around the key stock but the key stock remained noticeably cooler! Go figure?

"Thermal mass". It will keep it cooler for a while but once it's reached it's soak limit it will also take longer to cool off.

You should have welded the bars on the inside... it would be "stealth" then....

The only stealth on the PT is what the Dyno says. That my friend as on most of my vehicles is for my information only!

Heat soak Accounted for that and that is why there is a thermostat by-pass!
I am very careful about controlling the fluid temperatures in an automatic transmission. My sweet spot is 160-180F easily done with a little thought about what to use.

Some suggested the tubes in the pan like the old TransDapt trans pans. LOL
Really the key stock was just intended for looks. IMO looking gooood!
