Default Fun with wiper repair

Been up to my arse in snow, wifes 03 GT, cleaning it off after blowing the driveway, notice the wipers wont park.

search a little seems the fix is either replace motor or the switch, I figure the motor.

Go to junky yesterday grab the motor and linkage assembly and the wiper arms, 20 minutes in out and 20$.

Wash her car yesterday, pull it in garage, swap the motor/linkages, try it, damn still not working?

Go up in attic find box of spares, have the wiperand light stalks, pull column apart, swap them, it fixes the wiper but the fogs lights come on when they shouldn't, so think about it, go on to rock auto, notice they sell the stalks serperate.

Take a closer inspection and two torx bolts and the wipers stalk comes off. So swap the good light stalk to the good wiper stalk, reinstall, now all is good.

Will have to go the junky and grab a few of em as spares.

Oh dealer gets 134 for a new wiper stalk.

First I heard of wiper side gong out - the light side, yes...

What I learned was they are two unit, but connected together.

Anyhow, if folks loose the park on their wipers, try the wiper control stalk first, then the motor, it is about 30 minute job to swap in a motor.

Good junkyard items to grab in case

Nothing like a little self-reward some times!
