Default Current vehicle most similar to PT Cruiser?

Hi, my wife has a 2003 PT Cruiser Turbo and loves it, but obviously it's getting long in the tooth and they don't make them anymore. Not necessary in appearance, but are there any recommendations for similar functionality and performance other than to get another PT Cruiser (I'm assuming she only wants a new car)? You know a spiritual successor. Thanks.

Not bad, we were talking about it on the road yesterday and she definately was eyeballing hatchback cars. I think she wants something more mid-sizish however. Like she seems okay with the size of my Chevy Volt, but freaked out when I was looking at the Spark EV, Fit EV, and Fiat EV and calling them coffins on wheels. Basically, she's in soccer mom mode with no commute, but doesn't want to drive a stupid mini-van or anything. So the PT Cruiser has been perfect up until this point (but our son will probably be a 6'5" monster in six years).

If your talking similar shape, and functionality......The other day I actually considered the 2014 Ford Escape is basically a wanna-be PT Cruiser.......

I've had my used PT(very good condition)since July of 2012. No current recalls like Chevy HHR. Same man who designed PT for Chrysler did HHR for Chevy, go figure! I do wish there was a little more space in the rear like HHR. One other note, I wish bumpers in early years matched body colour. What's up with that?

Wife had an HHR as a rental - the back was all hard plastic - everything slid around and it scratched easily - dumb why they didn't "carpet" like the PT.
