Default annunciator bell

Hey all,

I have a 2010 PT...recently, it seems when I am taking more than a gentle turn (like I'm pulling into a driveway), occasionally the annunciator bell dings...nothing shows up on the dash. The first time I heard it, I thought I was low on gas and I expected to see the low fuel light on when I looked down but there was no light lit (and I had plenty of gas).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

That bell rings if you have your turn signal on for a particular length of time to remind you that you haven't made a turn and might have left the turn signal on. Maybe you put your indicator on a long time.

Check your brake fluid level.

cruserdad,

On mine (maybe Chrysler deleted it later), if you put your turn signal on, make a slight turn that wouldn't take the turn signal off, after about 15-20 seconds, a chime/bell starts going off in the dash to let you know the turn signal is still on.

I'll pay more attention to the directionals when I use them and see if that's what is causing it. I'll also check my brake fluid...Standard DOT 3?

Excellent...thanks. I need to pick up a shop manual for my PT...the suspension is
getting hammered with these brutal frost heaves...the worst I've seen in over 50 years of living here in NH.

There are a number of things that will cause the chime to sound off. The first one that comes to my mind is the low fuel warning chime. It dings once when you have about 3 gallons left to go and it dings 3 or more times when you have about a gallon left. There are other 'warnings' for brakes, traction control, etc, etc. Usually they also light up a icon or message in the dash but it's possible some don't.
