Default Need help to figure out if I have a cabin filter compartment

Hi there,
I manage to open up the top part and got to where the filter compartment is. I've seen a couple of videos online but still I am not entirely sure if I have a cabin filter compartment (I know for sure I have no cabin filter).

Can someone have a look at the pictures and verify If I do? Otherwise probably I will need to buy a cabin filter kit?

It appears that you have the right location under the wiper cowl on the passenger side. However, it looks like the canister that holds the filter is missing.

Here's one on E-bay so you can see what I'm referring too.

Good luck

I found this which includes also the cabin filter.

Amazon.com: OEM Chrysler PT Cruiser Cabin Air Filter Complete Kit 82206886: Automotive

Initially I thought that I was missing only the front part but there is a lot of empty space between that top plastic part and the water container which tells me that there is no housing the complete kit is the only way.

Has anyone had experience installing a complete kit? It looks like I'll have to remove the old one and there are just two bolts holding it in place. I have a 01 pt cruiser limited.

you have an '01 so you need the kit. remove the splash guard and install the filter housing in it's place...

Thank you so much. I place an order and get it done. I'll try to take some photos in the process and maybe look on whether that hole down there is clean of leafs and other things. Nobody has done any work down there since the car was purchased.

Job done! I got OEM's filter that doesn't have the front part which is actually a good thing given that removing the water unit is an extra step that is best to be avoided.

Change your filter a year from now and you'll be surprised how dirty it gets and how much crud it stops from entering the vehicle!
