Question Sunroof

'03 Limited 5spd N/A sunroof seems to intermittently slide back or closed when it wants to and it doesn't fully retract the edge of it all the way into the roof line. Is this normal after '01-'02 for these cars not to open completely and be somewhat slow or annoying? I also want to know should I consider looking for anything obstructing behind it, lubing the tracts, and checking the switches for it? Any help much appreciated . Thanks

Tracks are aluminum and guides for the sunroof are all plastic, I cannot see dirt being the issue because the track is inside the car. I'm thinking the motor is getting weak. But make sure your battery is at least 12 volts and terminals are spotless. When I put mine back together after replacing the tracks I used a qtip to grease the track, and I only put the grease where ther was contact between the gides and track. I didn't use much.

Yes - only earliest PTs had sunroofs that opened all the way.

Yep, just another reason the 2001 PT is so highly coveted.
