Default Removed center console, heat control knob problem

Hey folks,

Back a month or so ago, I needed to remove the center front bezel from my dash and move it to the side to install a ham radio bracket in front of the catch all shelf. All cables, etc were still attached.

I noticed the other day that I could only turn my temp control knob to about the 10:30 position before it felt like it was starting bind up. Up until now, I havenít need to turn up my heat so didnít notice anything before this morning. Iím certain this started after I moved the bezel so I could get behind it.

It may be obvious what happened once I get a chance to look behind it. That being said if itís not, what should I be looking for? Iím assuming there is some kind of linkage behind there to a hot/cold gate flap?

ThanksÖTim

Your going to have to remove the bezel & look for the kink.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to take a look at it this weekend. Colder weather isn't as far off as I'd like to think it is.

Mine binds a little in the cold weather but OK in summer.
The catch all tray comes off by itself you know. I installed a scanner there. A little tight but works good.

Yeah, I removed the catch all tray completely and the back half of my transceiver fits into that. I mounted the radio bracket to the part under the front bezel in front of the tray. I needed to move the bezel assembly away from the dash so I could install the nuts on the bolts holding the bracket. I tried to reach around the dash but my mitts were a bit too big to get the nut on top of the bolt without moving it.

I think I’ll get a chance Saturday to see what I did back there.
