Default cooling fluid used up no leak

5 days ago my car over heated. they filled it up with coolant and changed the radiator cap. today it happened again and there was lots of coolant mssing with no leak. They checked the oil and it was clean. Left it to be checked further. He said it might be going to the turbo and burning up in there.
ANY THOUGHTS?

BTW its a 2005 turbo 2.4L

1 time i had my radiator seeping from the stupid crimped on plastic tanks. the slow leak would evaporate before ever touching the ground. there was no noticeable steam

another time i had coolant leaking out of the waterpump and evaporating before it ever touched the ground. there was no noticeable steam.

in your case they may have simply bled the air out wrong. check the level every time the car cools and top it off as necessary.

you should also check the overflow hose that goes from the radiator to the overflow bottle. if it is not tight enough, it will bleed coolant to the bottle, and then it sucks air back in instead. to make mine for tighter i just clipped 1/2" off the little hose and reattached it to the radiator.

THAT is a WILD guess.
Is your engine fan working on both speeds? If yes, have your cooling system pressure tested and go from there.

i could certainly be "they". i never bleed mine properly. i just poke and prod the thermostat with a flat head until the air is out, then i drive it, and top it off after it cools. i'm not ASE certified though, so i'm allowed to do it like this.

i wasn't trying to tell him what is wrong, i was simply telling him a few of the places my coolant has mysteriously vanished to.
