Default manual trans.

Ok my car is auto 2.4l turbo ho. I found a parts car with a naturally aspirated motor I was thinking about taking the tranny and all those parts from the car but have never converted the trans before so I was wondering are all trans the same on pts and what would I be getting myself into if I done this.

From what I see/read every year or two DC changed computer/transmission, wiring harness, TCM, BCM. Sounds like a night mare to change all that.

The turbo manual trans is different. They had to use a stronger manual as the one on the naturally aspirated car is weaker. The normal trans will probably last for a while but who knows for how long.

Since you want to go from an automatic to a manual, it shouldn't be too hard. The manual trans has no computer so the only wires that need to be connected are for the speed sensor. The rest of the stuff is just installing the pedal, shift cables, etc. If you don't change to a manual GT computer, you will have a check engine light because the trans is missing, but you can probably live with that.

^^^ This.

Turbo uses a Getrag. SRT4 uses a NVT, your PT and the Neon (non SRT) uses a smaller NVT.
