Default New here. average life span of head gasket ?

My 2002 PT has about 86,000 miles on the original head gasket. What is the normal life of the head gasket ? I'm only asking because if it's a good idea to replace it when doing a timing belt. And maybe a radiator. All is well right now, just thinking ahead.

Welcome to the forum. Headgasket is best left alone until such time that it shows problems. Many have gone way past 150k before one is needed.

Unless you experience overheating, a headgasket should not need replacing.
What should be changed (in my opinion) when timing belt is done is the thermostat, since you do water pump at the same time....
