Default Problem: Exterior lights won't turn off

Hello @ all,
Since today, my exterior lights (fwd/rear) won't turn off. Opening the driver door the 'Lights ON' alarm chimes even when lights are set off at the Multifunction switch and the ignition key is removed.
Only pulling the battery cable will turn them off. (Sorry, I dont know the correct fuse.)
When trying to switch the lights on, they lighted up with delay (2-3 sec). Later same problem appeared turning them off.
Apart from this everything seems to be just fine. No check lights no other failures.

My PT...
model: Touring Edition
year: 2007
km/miles: 110 000km/68 350mi
country: Mexico

!!!PLEASE HELP !!! & Thank you in advance !

You need to replace your Multifunction Switch. Try taking apart the column housing & make sure that the plug is not burnt.

Actually there isn't a fuse. When giving info you have to make sure that you know what year they have. The electrical on the 06 and up's have the Canbus system and is controlled by the TIPM. It is unusual for the MFS to fail on the 2nd generation cars but not unheard of.

Hello again,
Strange things happened ... in the morning the MFS was completely out of order. I was unable to switch on/off the Fog and Exterior lights nor diming the instrument panel lights. Therefore I ordered the MFS at our local AutoZone store, delivery will be next week.
Well ... In the evening ... everything is back to normal again. The MFS is fully operational.
During the day the Airbag check light/warning chime appeared for about an minute after each engine start and later disappeared. In the evening no airbag warning anymore ... instead, the window washing fluid pump is operating at half power, now.

I'm suspecting something electrical. Yesterday I hosed down my PT by High Pressure Cleaner (not the engine) just prior the a.m. troubles occurred.

Maybe someone knows what part of my PT can cause this erratic behavior?

Thanks a lot for your answers ... brgds Marko

The TIPM, (FUSE BOX) is not sealed and sits just just behind the air filter box
may have gotten spray if you used the high pressure washer on the left wheel and inner shield. That something I would avoid, dealer replacement is around $800. Lets hope its not permant damage on yours.
