Default First Year of Ownership

Hello All, While I haven't contributed anything to the forum I try to keep up with the posts. Anyway, I bought my PT last Aug. so it has been one year of driving. I use my PT as a daily driver and I have to say that it has been very reliable. I have not had any failures, codes or let downs with this car at all. When I first brought the car home from half way across the state my family thought I was nuts to go that far just for a "PT". I wanted this car for multiple purposes and I liked it because I have only seen one other like it (color wise) in our area. My step-daughter's Durango was hit with some extensive hail so I let her borrow it for 10 weeks. At first she was really pissed that I wouldn't let her have my truck but after two weeks she told me I would not be getting the PT back. She stated that who would've thought a little car could grow on you and get decent gas mileage. My grandkids even named the PT "Zippy". Zippy meaning it drives and rides like a go-cart but isn't really that fast....ha! Kids.
I really have learned a great deal on this forum and have finally been able to provide some pics.

Zippy is a 2006 Route 66 Edition with auto and all the bells and whistles. It was in very good mechanical condition but not so good cosmetically. It took a solid month of interior and exterior cleaning, shampooing, polishing, waxing and a trip to the body shop to fix a dent. I have done a lot of work to it and feel lucky to have it.

That looks to be quite a shine you have on her.
Well done.

For sure, a head turner. The turbo doesn't hurt either.

It's not a turbo. Not sure if a 66 was available with one. Someone will let us know on that.

From northwestcruisers.org Emphasis added

"2006 Street Cruiser Route 66 Edition - Available with manual or automatic transaxle, equipped with sport suspension and four-wheel ABS disc brakes and traction control, it was powered with the standard 150hp engine. The Solar Yellow color was exclusive to this model and included the yellow color on the grille and brake calipers, .... Exterior features included sunscreen glass, rear spoiler, 17-inch chrome plated five-spoke wheels, a Street Cruiser badge on the lift-gate, and Route 66 badges on the front doors. The instrument cluster and passenger airbag door were Solar Yellow. Seats were Pastel Slate Gray cloth. A leather wrapped Satin Silver spoked steering wheel, six-way power driver's seat, side airbags, remote keyless entry, Sentry Key engine immobilizer, speed sensitive power door locks, and AM/FM six-disc CD changer radio were included. It has been reported on the Internet that there were 1,443 of these cars built for North America, and that the cars built for world markets were available in black as well as yellow, but we have not verified either of these statements."
