Default Internal Heater/vent controls

General question....

When you have the vent selector on floor/defrost (the one that shows air blowing on your feet and front window) and have the far right control on recirculate...and you then turn the vent selector to full defrost on window, does your far right control knob automatically rotate over to outside air intake?

If this IS a feature ... Why? If not, I may have a problem here.

I just wanted to see if my initial question confused everyone since a lot of people have viewed but did not reply.

I also am wondering if the air vent controls are tied to the vacuum system?

Yes when you have it on closed circulation and you swap to defrost, it automatically flips to pull outside air.

Yes,all PT Cruisers climate controls do that.......Supposedly because outside/fresh air typically has less condensation/humidity than recirculated 'cabin air'.
I've actually been waiting for someone to come up with a modification for this feature.....It could possibly be done by cutting/grinding/removing the metal 'armature?' from the rear of the control knobs that control and/or blocks-out full operator selection,or control of the FRESH/RECIRCULATE modes.
