Default Warning chime not working

I looked around but couldn't find anything about this so I thought I'd ask. Any ideas why the warning chimes wouldn't be working? I was programming a second fob and didn't get a chime sound (I managed to get the fob connected though). Then I started thinking and realized I have never heard the chime. No door warning, no seat belt warning, no headlight warning... nothing.

Anyone experience this or have a suggestion on where I should look to fix it?

Did you ever get the door warning chime, seat belt warning chime or headlight warning chime.. since you owned the PT Cruiser or did it just stop chiming when you were programming the second FOB?

I only bought it last month, but no, I haven't heard any chime in that time. I didn't really notice, but this explains why the wife and I keep leaving the lights on so often.

It only worries me in regards to not getting an audible alarm if the car overheats. Most of the other chimes I could probably live without.

I would suggest trying the procedure listed below just to see if it chimes or not.

The ESBR System can be enabled or disabled by your authorized dealer or by following these steps:

Note - The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend deactivating the Enhanced Warning System.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and buckle the driver's seat belt.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.

Note - Watch for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn on while unbuckling and off while re-buckling the seat belt. It may be necessary to retract the seat belt.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

The Enhanced Warning System can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

Unfortunately it didn't have any effect. I never heard the single chime and do not getting the cascade of chiming when I start the car that I have heard in others'.
