Default Fuel Injector Connector

Hi all,

Been browsing for a while and had a quick question. I have a 2005 pt cruiser 2.4l, HO turbo convertible. My issue is the fuel injector connector wire came loose and I'm trying to solder a new piece on. The wire colors are green /orange and yellow/blue. The piece from nappa (#ec264) just come in red (+) and black(-). I cannot figure out which is the positive and which is negative (green/orange vs yellow/blue). I tried looking at some of the wiring diagrams in the tech section but to no avail. Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance .

Dark green/ orange is positive circuit side.
The other is the ground side. The wire goes to the PCM; the computer grounds the circuit.

Interestingly, the four injectors each have different wire colors to the PCM.
Injector #1, white/dark blue
Injector #2, tan
Injector #3, yellow/white
Injector #4, light blue/brown

Wow did not know about the different colors per injector and PCM thing. All in all thanks for your speedy response.

Yes, The PT uses sequential, for better idle quality.
Each injector must have it's own circuit

That is very good to know.

About a week ago someone mentioned a PT engine running (though roughly) without a cam sensor. The same thing is mentioned in another thread as well. But after looking at the general layout, it appears that an engine setup like the 2.4 might be able to run in some kind of default or limp home mode based solely on the crank sensor if the injectors did not need to fire in sequence. This is the case since the crank sensor alone would not be enough to indicate which of the two revolutions the crank was making within the firing sequence. A cam sensor would be required for that.

I don't know exactly what year PT's might do this. And even if some did, it would have to be very few since most report the engine being dead stick when the cam sensor goes. And of course, the reports of PT engines running without the cam sensor could just be mistakes or incorrect assumptions.

If the OP needs any photos of the injector wiring on a 2004 turbo, just let me know. I can probably snap some shots of the one I've been getting salvage parts off of. My 05 GT might be the same too.

Go unplug your cam sensor test it out

Why believe me ?

Did you ever get a scan tool? You will need to clear about 1-6 DTCs when your PT does not start
