Thumbs up What does the inside of an engine with a Bad Head Gasket look like?

Hey guys,

So my PT engine has seen better days but I thought I would make this an educational experience. It is sooooo cool to see inside the engine.

Let me know what you think.

Next step is to try to find an affordable engine to put into the PT... Everything I am looking at is $2000 and the PT is worth $2500 so...

Where are you located? I'm in the Pittsburgh area and may part out my 2002. I hit a deer a few weeks ago and they have totaled the car. It is still drivable thankfully so I'm still using it until I decide what to do.

It is a bummer since I did the timing belt last year along with all belts, hoses, water pump, lower control arms, all bushing front and rear, read wheel bearings, all fluids and had the K-frame rebuilt. The car drives like new.

I have 110,000 miles on the car.

The insurance company is giving me a good amount for the car so I'm happy for that, but they will let me keep it and will only knock off a little over $400 from the settlement so I may keep it and part it out, or possibly fix it.

How long did you run it in overheated condition?
Just curious.
