Nitro, you referenced this in the thermostat thread. All those notebooks of data and you want us to rely on one half tank? That is barely a tenth of 1% of the fuel my dad and I have run through ours. Don't you have any more data to provide? I used to keep mpg records on everything. My PT is so consistent that I kind of gave up writing it down in the book unless it is a crazy variance. The interior of the car is littered with fuel receipts with mpg numbers written on them.

Despite my car being over 100K miles and in a rather sketchy state, I have done as well as 29.8 mpg (30.2 on the ultragauge). I don't find that as legit mpg - it was less than a full tank and highway rest stop to highway rest stop. I generally get in the 23-26 range (22.8 - 26.7 if you want to be exact). The variance is almost always simply related to traffic, city/highway travel, cruising speed and how full the tank gets on any particular tankful.

That is in primarily highway with some city/traffic mixed in. That is as long as I keep it sub-85. The faster you go, it really starts to drop. When most of the trip is around 70 is when it is highest. I have a manual, so it is easier to hypermile.

I gave a short account,

Honestly I get tired having to explain my information to a couple of regular members all the time regarding what I generally think to be helpful perhaps useful to most members on this forum? That response and if you read the title of this thread I started about MY PT CRUISER was an effort to achieve a personal best MPG for that time period.
I think I gave enough information how I achieved that posted MPG that someone else might duplicate what I did and may get something close to it?

Other MPG results overall based on 4 months 4/24-8-24 , 2,039 miles 94.3 gal used which is 21.6mpg. All driving which included lots of stop and go and small 12 mile round trips for work and racing once a week which was aprox. 4 passes per week.

Or how about 8/3-9/29 , 1206 miles 51.16 gal, 23.57 MPG This was around town and stop and go , and a couple of weekend trips.

Do I need yo go on??
