Default Aloha, I have a dilemma 😞

hi everyone, I was reading a lot on this forum, but never posted. Now I'm stuck in a situation where I have to ask for advice from you guys. I have a airbag light on. I have a Inova scanner that show was passenger seat track fault. I took it to the dealer and they told me that I need a new module new driver side seat belt restrainer and no new driver side connector. I told him that in my scanner shows passenger side they said that's not what they have on their scanner. I don't trust dealers but now I'm confused Shorty trust them on my cheap scanner. They quoted me for all the repairs $917. It's 2008 PT cruiser base model. Any input would be appreciated. Aloha

I would believe the dealer level scanner above a DIY scanner. With that said, sounds like they are throwing parts at it so I would get another opinion. But I would use a dealer level scanner for sure.

Get a second opinion - it doesn't have to be a dealer - ask around at parts stores for a good mechanic.

Go to another non-dealer shop and see what they say. Also, please tell us what codes you are getting. Also, you can likely find used parts from a 2006 thru 2010 slaver PT for under a $100 if you can do the job yourself.

And welcome to the forum from the great sovereign state of Arkansas!

Normally, it would be in the mid-50's here in Arkansas with little green buds on the trees and the yellow Daffodills would already be in bloom. I could walk down into the deep creek bottoms and see deer, coon, squirrels, foxes and maybe some signs of bear and even the large paw prints of that ghost-like panther that "is, but isn't there". My wife would be with me. And in the continuous warming of the afternoon, she'd shed her jacket to reveal an old tight tee shirt and faded jeans. And the breeze would be blowing though her thick blond hair. And I would be reminded of the teenage country girl she once was and when we rolled together in the cool wet leaves on this same forest floor in February so many years before.

But instead, I get to deal with THIS today!

Iím not sure if anyone cares after long time, but it was general air bags code and passenger track sensor code. What I found was track sensor was ripped off and bracket bent from something stuck under the seat. I removed connector and connected wires directly to the sensor- problem solved!

Maybe he was just being cautious and wanted to make sure it was fixed before reporting back about it
