Default SUN ROOF MOTOR WEAK

I have a 2004 Touring PT. I noticed the Sun Roof was not quite closed, the other day. I hit the overhead switch and the motor sounded like it was running on 6 volts, which wasn't strong enough to close all the way, 100%. The back is down 1/2 inch or so...

I opened it all the way and made sure there were no leaves or tree branches, in the track, all was OK...

I looked in the repair CD I have and it doesn't even mention the Sun Roof, just the removal of the headliner ???

Any hints to get to the motor. I have access to a yard with lot's of PT's so I am sure I could get another motor, if in fact that is the problem.

I never had a problem opening or shutting it before. I bought this PT NEW, in 2003

I live in Florida and it can REALLY RAIN down here... HELP !!!

It may be possible to lubricate the tracks in your sunroof mechanism. If not, here's a link to a little photo-documentation on my sunroof change-out job.

I'm having this problem as well... the motor seems fine, but one side is "sticky" and won't close all the way.

Anyone got more details on lubricating the tracks? What's the best lube to use?

You don't lug a track in the usual sence. Would more like considered a chain. Fits into a groove. To he the head liner down yo need to take some interest peaches loose. Anything that bolts on to or over Laps the edges. To just lunch the chain. You need only take the back half loose. I just used bearing grease for this. When I had mine out of the project pt.
