I am rarely stumped on the Internet, but this one has got me. I snapped the intermediate cable on my parking brake that goes from the hand brake to the equalizer bar. It is 12" long with a swaged fitting on each end. This is a 2005 convertible with 5-speed transmission. The part doesn't appear to exist online from any parts source. The MOPAR diagrams show the cable in the diagrams part #8. But #8 isn't in the parts listing, it just skips right over it.
Does anybody have a part number for this cable, or a source, or any advice? Thanks.

The best thing to do is just go to a salvage yard and get an entire parking brake lever mechanism. Sadly, I just threw one away two weeks ago.
I imagine that forum member Bubba_1952 can get one of these for you. Just send him a PM. Here's a link to PM him. ![]() http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...=newpm&u=36011

By 12" cable, you really meant 9, right?
![]() I'll send it out today. |

Yes, you are correct, 9" cable, I just measured it. Sorry for the error.
How the heck did you get a quarter million miles out of your PT? You must be skilled, patient, or a lot of both. I'm at 121K and I'm throwing $100-$200 a month of parts at it. Next up is the clutch. My last transverse engine clutch job (VW) was a PITA. I'm not sure I want to go through that again.

it's in the mail. the clutch isn't that bad. just a little weird because the clutch bolts to a flexplate. on the brightside, there's no need to center it and there's also no pilot bearing.
mine went out because of this stupid piece in the center of the disk: i killed it. |

Rob-
I meant to send out a thank you last week. Parking brake cable received, installed and drums adjusted. It is better than before. Thanks for the part. Let me know if I can ever repay the favor. -Brian

![]() Another thing. You have to make payments or parts. You can't ride free. Work done well when needed. Is usually cheaper than payments. ![]()
