There may be a really good reason its there.

Some years ago we had a '98 LHS that I needed a computer for, I went to the local U-Pull-a-Part place and there was an LHS sitting on bare wheels.

The body looked great but there was a shop in the Quad Cities that had left a list of things wrong with the car.

The power steering had failed, the transmission would not shift out of low gear, the air conditioning evaporator was leaking, the ABS was not functioning, the traction control was not working, the up stream Oxygen sensor was not working, the rear wheel bearings were making noise, all four disk brakes and calipers needed replaced, and some other things that I forget now.

I wondered if maybe the car had been submerged or something to cause all that damage.

I got the computer out of the car and took it to a local mechanic that had the proper scanner to reset it and it worked for my car. I was really surprised that it did since there was such a laundry list of things wrong with the donor car.

That car was hit in the right front, mashed the fender, broke the wheel.
The right front door has a push out dent in it.
The deck lid had a push out dent in it.
The two left doors were perfect.
There was a Dream wheel on the right rear and left front, the third wheel was in the trunk.
The nose was broken where the fender attached and the headlamp was broken. The hood was perfect except for a slight dent in the top near where the hood rod fits underneath.
The door panels were perfect.
The seat upholstery was dirty but saveable on the seat backs, the cushions good for patterns.
Only thing missing was the light switch with serial number plate and the floor mats.
I got the instrument panel cover and the airbag cover before I left the yard four or five days ago. The rains kept me away until today which was one day too late.
I called the office to if they would remove the car from the pile and let me strip the parts I needed and pay them more than they are worth but rules are rules and on the pile is getting crushed tomorrow or Monday.
I ended up buying two two perfect black dash covers, a useable dark slate fender for the woodie, an air box and battery support bracket for the woodie, rear premium speakers for the 02 Dream, a good hood pad for the 03 Dream, a turbo starter, a set of GT floor mats, a silver antenna for the 02 Dream, and a set of perfect letters from a GT, both deck and door lettering.
Doesn't overcome the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I turned around and that Inca Gold Dream Cruiser waiting to be crushed.
