Default PT Cruiser - Good Power

Recently I bought a 2003 Limited non-turbo for my teenage son for his first car. I wanted to buy another Jeep Cherokee because I know how to work on those pretty well, but could not find a suitable unit. Ran across the PT Cruiser while shopping, had a good price, drove it and decided it would work just fine. Caught up all the maintenance including the timing belt and band spanking new set of Michelin's.

I never really liked the car that much when it was in production; guess I fell for the negative reviews and never really investigate the car for myself.

Now, I am almost embarrassed at how much I like the car and enjoy driving it. It is quite comfortable to drive around town and with a little lead in your foot it accelerates quite well...another surprise. Because the engine is slow to accelerate it gets the reputation of being under powered. If you drive it like a 2-cycle dirt bike (remember those) it moves out pretty well. Give it a little gas and off it goes.

I don't think this is talked about enough frankly. A 2.4 liter 4-cylinder is not a small engine.

Somehow or another I would up with 2 PT Cruisers (the other is a '07 turbo convertible). I plan to keep the convertible, mostly because I like it, but also because I do not believe there is a car out there with more style or character for under $40,000.

Some people are not ever going to like the Cruiser; probably just like me they read the reviews and never checked the car out for themselves.

Check one out of for yourself and see what you think...I believe you will be surprised.

I bought mine for cruising so power aint an issue.. after having all 8 cylinders its not that impressive power wise...it gets decent fuel milage, looks cool and is very versitable when the rear seats are gone and you got a rubber liner.. I don't really care what other people think...I am happy with my pt
