Welcome to the forum.
I would recommend you introduce yourself to the forum and say a few things about your PT Cruiser.

Where did you get the fuel pump and what brand?
Is it still blowing the fuse?
Engine light on?
Rob342 on the next post has some excellent questions and suggestions.

did it do this before replacing the fuel pump?
have you recently changed anything besides the fuel pump?

if it did not do this before, most likely cause would be you pinched or damaged a wire and it's intermittently shorting to ground. second most likely would be a bad fuel pump. new doesn't always mean good.

and more importantly, why did you replace the fuel pump?

if you replaced the pump due to the fuse blowing, you should also understand it feeds the PCM, fuel pump, data link connector pin #16, and the ASD relay to power the injectors, O2 sensors, ignition coil, EGR solenoid(01-02 only), and PCM.

also, i would like to know if there's anything special added by you or the previous owner, and also what the voltage is when it is running before digging in farther to verify it isn't overcharging. own/use a multimeter?
