replace water pump on 2003 PT 66,000 mi

Default replace water pump on 2003 PT 66,000 mi

About how much will it cost me to have a water pump replaced on 2003 PT I have about 66,0000 mi on it I already have a mechanic in mind I think he charges 30.00 an hr. I live In ohio just wondering what to expect

Might as well do the timing belt while your in there...expect the job to be anywhere from $600-$1200.

Even with that relatively low mileage, the water pump and timing belt can simply give out from age.
I just replaced the cracking timing belt on my 2005, with only 45K on the clock.
Do the timing belt, water pump, and belt tensioners all at the same time.

That's real good for labor, is it a shade-tree mechanic or one that works through a shop? Most dealerships charge around $100/hr in my area (Dallas/Ft. Worth). But you want to be careful, as you get what you pay for, and this work you don't want to cut any corners. There are even experienced mechanics that have had difficulty with this work on the PT's.
