Default Rad blew again lol

I have got to laugh to quell my anger. Had the radiator fixed before, repaired and it went again so thought I would buy a new one. Turned out it was cheaper too, why they didn't tell me this the first time is beyond me.

Anyway, new Radiator has burst again, same place as the old one did. What the hell are the chances of this happening. I regularly check coolant, the overflow was actually still full too. They can replace it frankly as it is still within the 12 month warranty.

How depressing.

What do we think could be causing this to happen, in the exact same place, top right hand corner right by the battery?

Did you find and corrosion on the metal portions of the radiator wher the tank failed? That or wear from battery rubbing on radiator tank would be the only realistic reasons for failure unless there is a Manufacturing defect in the product itself.

Is the battery held down with the hold down bolt using the correct side of the black hold down wedge?
Or should I ask if the battery can be moved back and forth after removing the air cleaner top housing?
Pressure cap correct?
Perhaps the radiator is on a bind and not laying flat against the mounting frame.
I had a lady actually pushing my Pt Cruiser up a hill, she was trying to make room to park in front of me with her ricer honda. She could barely see out the front let alone in back of her. My radiator started to leak a week latter on the driver side top... You figure it out, I had my bumper off and low and behold ther was some damage to the metal cross brace that she pushed against shortening the clearance to the radiator with out any cosmetic damage.

I had a good look today and the battery etc are all down tight. It seems the metal tooth like long clip on the top has come away from the radiator. Same thing as before.

I wonder if it is just a fault with the radiators.

So the garage said the warranty won't cover it if it was due to a stone hitting the radiator. Now, if the burst is on the inside right under the seam, do we think this could be caused by a stone?

I would have presumed it would be due to a stone hitting it if the burst was on the outside of the radiator?

My gut is just telling me they are going to try it on.

That the same problem I had...with both replacement
radiators...separating from metal and plastic...
My factory one had a core misaligned and was seeping

So they saying it isnt a manufacturers fault but that thw fan guard ia alightly warped and has rubbed the radiator to cause the leak. Is that even plausable?

If they didn't get it on there correctly. And what happened to the stone thing .Sounds like this bunch are a little shady.

Hi Busted.

They initially said, if the radiator had blown due to a stone hitting it on the motorway then the warranty wouldn't cover it.

my old radiator went like this before so took it to them to have it replaced but a year down the line it went in the same place so decided to have a new one fitted. And now this one has gone in the exact same place too.

Guy said the casing/guard for fan is warped and rubbing it.

Probably what caused the other radiator to go in the same place?

I really dunno. When the rain stops I planned to go out and look at the radiator and guard and see if it is anywhere near the whole.
