Default Horn blares randomly

I have a 2009 turbo
I experienced the whacky electrical problem when the warning lights would come on and off and all the needles on the gauges would all fall. This was solved when the ignition switch was replaced ($25)

Now the horn blares randomly when car is moving and sometimes when it's parked. I can't make it stop until the engine is turned off.

HELP

my buddy managed to drop a penny behind the airbag. car randomly blew the horn when he turned after that.

villager i'd recheck how the wiring is routed if it just started after the switch. sounds like a pinched wire. at least try moving the column up and down next time it happens

Thanks rob342. I'll try tilting the wheel next time it happens. Hopefully it will solve the mystery which is completely freaking out the new drivers in my house.

It happened today when no one was driving the car but we were simply locking the doors. Is it possible that the horn problem is connected to the key?
I read somewhere on this site that not using the remote key and instead open and close the door with the actual key might make the problem stop. Tried using the key to lock the doors and the horn went off.

Since you were in there I would check for pinched wires around the steering column. After that you will have to start disconnecting things one at time until the problem goes away to isolate it. Can be the horn button, clock spring, relay, or the TIPM.
