Default 06 touring auto stiff shift

When I got the cruiser 3 years ago, the shifter works fine from P to D if the temperature is not too cold. It is stiff in the winter's morning, but became smooth if the car warmed up. But the shifter is hard to move to 3 and 1, I thought it is normal.

A few days ago, I happened to shifted the shifter to 3 and 1, and from then, the shifter became stiff even in the P-D range.

Any suggestion is appreciated?

Sounds like you may have a little bit of a stiff tranny, a fluid flush never hurts I have paid around $75-150 to get mine flushed.
Hope this helps!
Eli
Edit: I say the fluid because the shift cable usually isn't temperature-sensitive while the tranny fluid could be.
Also, is it rough shifting when I'm drive? Any grinding or rough stops when shifting?

Thanks.

The transmission itself works fine.
Then fluid is clean.

This morning, I drove to AAMCO to get a inspection, the mechanic said it might be the cable, or the assembly. I do not have time today so he did not tear down to check it.

Is it hard to DIY in weekend?
Any tips?

updates,

problem solved,

shifter works fine, transmission lever is fine.

it is the cable, cable is stuck.

spend almost 3hrs to replace it, now it is very smooth.
