Default How to center/make sure your clockspring is centered?

Is there a specific way to tell if the clockspring is center after removal and reinstallation?

I installed cruise control in my '06, and it worked, but upon my first turn, the contacts in my clockspring broke. Now I have to tear apart my steering wheel for the third time (at least it gets easier every time!) and have to take a trip to the junk yard for the 5th time this week.

I'm going used on my clockspring, so I will not have the strip of tape that comes OEM that is almost a guide to centering it, so how do I center and double check that it is centered so I don't break another one?
