Default Will the folding mirrors from a Gen 1 fit a Gen 2 Cruiser?

I found a set of folding mirrors on an '01 and wonder if they will work on my '06?

The mirrors will FIT but the heat function will not work just as it will not work in 2003-2005. The wires are not there.
Other wise it should plug in and work fine, plus you can fold them in parking lots to prevent damage. My son and I replaced the stationary mirrors of both our 2003s with those.

I'm pretty sure that they will clear any inside trim. Trim fastens to the door. Connected most likely different. First hen can be wired for the defrost. Santanadeharma (forgive the spelling) added the wiring for this on the gen one. Not sure this can be done on the second gen on account of the can bus. I just don't know!

OK, I've been studying my FS Manual wiring schematics and I see that in 2006 the heated remote mirrors were only available on the Convertible in the USA. However, it says that POWER FOLDING (!!) mirrors were available on Export models. The switch diagram clearly shows 'fold' and 'unfold' buttons.

Is that what the 'folding' mirrors were on the 2001s? I was assuming that they were manually folded.

I stumbled across this as I was looking to see how difficult it would be to add the heated option as well as the folding mirrors to my '06 from that donor '01 in the photo.

SOOOO, is it true that they were 'power' folding mirrors in the Gen 1s here in the US of A?

Both my 2001 and 2002 cruisers had heated MANUAL folding mirrors.
