Default Need some suggestions please. At a loss here.

My car AC wasnt working. It was leaking from the evap core. So that got replaced and the compressor kicked on and off. All in all everything was replaced. Evap core, Compressor, Condenser, High and low pressure switches, High and low pressure lines. The air is still blowing warm however the car has the proper pressure. Not sure what else it could be. Any suggestions?

You did not mention if the Condensing coil fan was coming on when the AC is turned on. ( Same fan as Radiator cooling but at higher speed)

Are the AC lines going to the the evaporator the same temperature or is one sweating when the AC is on?

I am not sure honestly. Its at a shop and they are running out of ideas. They have had the car for like 3 weeks. I am just looking for ideas to tell them. I paid for the evap core. They have replaced everything else for no charge since that didnt solve the problem. When i first got the car back the AC was working but it would get warm at red lights then get cooler as i drove. I brought it back and thats when they started replacing things.

From what you describe, what JoeX suggested could well be your problem. You need the high speed fan on when the A/C is ON if the system is going to work properly.

If your taking about the fan, you can pick it up almost anywhere car parts are sold. It's a 2-speed radiator fan for your year PT Cruiser. You can get them for around $100 with a lifetime warranty.

You probably want it pretty fast or I'd sell you my spare. I have a brand new 2001 radiator fan (never been used) sitting in the attic in the original box that I'd let go for about $70 shipped but at that price it wouldn't be overnight.

Oh i was just asking. They will probably get it themselves from autozone or something local. If they dont get my A/C working i am gonna tell them i want the money i paid for the evap core refunded. I am not paying that much money for something that wont work.

Is that all it is available in? rock auto just lists radiator fans. Are they all 2-speed?

All the non-turbo fans are 2-speed. The Turbo models are controlled by the computer and are variable.
