Default Hatch won't open

HI Gang
Run into an issue.
Just last week out of the blue - our hatch back got to where you have to use the key to open it.
Everything else (locking/unlocking wise) works perfect.
Anyone else run into this issue,.. how did you fix it.

most stuff like this i've replaced on my PT only needed R&R and a little grease. you might inspect the actuator and see if it is getting voltage, if it is seized, or if you can fix it easily. i'd pop the hatch plastic off and watch/listen/check what happens when you push the button.

I replaced the pressure switch latch handle on the rear hatch OF SOOO BIG and his burned out RKEM. This addressed the same problem your describing. Most times when the pressure switch fails it dysfunctions in the open position, burning out that portion of the RKEM. I submitted a thread on that with pictures and explanation in the latter part of 2014. Perhaps a more experienced Forum member can find that thread for you.
There was a thread circulating last week with 3 complete reasonably priced RKEM/key remote control fob units for I think $50 apiece. A good deal. I think it was run be myckee. It ran on about Sept 30th. I hope this helps you. Happy PTin', ptprice
