I get NO respect on the road driving my PT

What a difference when I drive my BMW X5 vs my PT. It seems no one wants to let me in even though I signal with plenty of time with my PT and more people cut me off in the PT vs the BMW. Talk abought a double standard.

There's an easy solution to this...

Paint your PT with a bunch of spray cans of black primer after beating on the fenders with a hammer. Then black the windows out with limo film and saw off the muffler. Afterward, if you just drive a little crazy everyone will give you a wide berth and the road will be yours.

Actually, this is somewhat of an issue with all PT owners. For some reason, only a select part of the population seems to appreciate the unique sporty look of the PT. And of course, almost everyone on this forum is part of this select population so it's hard for us to see that not everyone shares this appreciation. But hey, ultimately you have to make yourself happy. I bought PT Cruisers because they look very cool to me. My Charger Daytona turns more heads, but there's just something special about driving a PT Cruiser.

Don't take this Personally but I'd cut you off regardless of what your driving, but there would be that section of the population that would see your beamer as a bigger Lawsuit and be more careful, I agree with handy_Cruiser whole heartedly about driving the PT cause its a fun car to drive and looks great.

Never encountered that.

My 2 cents worth.

I've not had that happen to me. I seem to be treated normally in my PT. I actually had a young kid give me the Peace Sign once.

Of course I don't own anything fancier to compare with. I used to own a 1983 Imperial, and that turned heads once-in-a-while. People would ask me if it was a Mercury.

I, too, have not noticed not getting "respect" on the road. I've actually gotten some good compliments from folks, and from the toll attendants when I cross the Verrazano bridge into Jersey.

I'm more baffled when people don't see my PT and just stop dead in their tracks and say "WOW, that's the best and coolest car in the world!".

I accidentally bumped someone that wouldn't let me in. I was squeezing out of my lot so the next guy HAD to let me in... But my car rolled down the curb. When I started laughing the guy I hit went bipolar. "You think this is funny!?!" Me giggling:"Yeah I do. does that make you mad? Are you gonna call the police?"

I did notice when in our minivan I can be cruising along with nobody behind me, then someone will get in front of me and go slower... Like they just haaaaaaaad to get in front of the minivan. This happens CONSTANTLY, so now I speed up and play with people when I see it about to happen. This never happens in the PT or my Ford.

I let over anyone that uses a signal and isn't on the phone.

Look on the bright side. The cars that people try to ignore on the road are the same ones the police generally ignore when they speed by.

I get all kinds of respect in my cruiser

Woops, wrong cruiser. Actually, in my PT, wife's Cruze and my Vette, lots of folks drive very un-respectful of me and other drivers when they think nobody's watching (law enforcement). The worst is people coming out in front of moving traffic when there's really no room to do that, either cutting in or coming from a side street or parking lot. No thought that the speed limit is 45 to 60, they take their sorry sweet time in getting up to speed.
