Third winter with my '04 PT and every winter it will only start with a jump. Until today. Won't start at all. Last winter it went through really heavy diagnostics with a mechanic and also an eletrical specialist and they found nothing wrong at all. It's becoming really tiresome and stressful not being able to get to work on time. I'd honestly love to sell it, if anyone is interested. I am located in Colorado. 125k miles.

Bummer. If a mechanic and an electrical specialist has been under your hood... then my ideas have probably been checked but...
- Have you tried a different battery? - Both battery and charging system been tested up to snuff? - Good engine and chassis grounding present? - Any unexpected draw on the battery when car is off? - Does your car crank and crank but not start? Or not even crank at all? - Starter issue? - Have you confirmed good spark while cranking? - Could be a PCM... Cheers!

Until you solve it or sell it, try keeping a charger/trickle-charger on the battery every night.
http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page...ckle%20charger Sure beats being late to work every morning. ![]() What kind of temperatures are seeing out in Colorado this time of year. It seems pretty early in the season for your battery to be affected by cold. Are the terminal connections tight? It doesn't take a great deal of mechanical skill to check. Pop off the air filter cover for access to both the positive and negative terminals. Make sure the terminals are clean and the ring clamp that holds the wire to the terminal is a turn or two past snug. I hope you get it figured out soon. |

Have you ever replaced the plug wires? Sometimes, it's that simple.

How about your coolant temperature sensor? A wonky CTS can cause starting problems too. If you haven't replaced it, try that. But, get it from a Mopar dealer and not aftermarket. Calibration counts with these things and aftermarket electrical parts are not always calibrated properly. They try to cover too many models with one part #.

I hope this helps.
